Maven Finance features multiple DAO-controlled Treasuries, each playing a unique role in the ecosystem.
Each treasury is a smart contract that may hold an array of tokens, and which may be designated as the receiver of subsequent revenue, such as stability fees and liquidation fees.
The management of the Treasuries occurs via the standard Governance protocol and the protocol, ensuring full transparency on the blockchain.
While Treasuries can receive and hold any type of tokens, only those that are whitelisted can be managed and transferred through the Treasury smart contract.
Tokens not on the whitelist will remain securely within the Treasury until they are granted permission for whitelisting and transfer through Governance.
This reduces and mitigates the risk of interacting with any malicious smart contracts.
Each Treasury also has the ability to stake its MVN on the Doorman contract or delegate to a Tezos baker to earn rewards.
However, delegation to a Maven Satellite is not possible for a Treasury.
Through Governance, a new Treasury may also be created at any time, with both the Governance Proxy Contract Address and the Treasury Factory Contract Address being added as whitelisted contracts.
At Maven's inception, there will be a diverse array of Treasuries, each serving a specific mandate and purpose.
DAO Validator Fund: This Treasury holds funds to support the operation and maintenance of Maven Finance's validators. Validators play a critical role in maintaining the blockchain's integrity, and the funds will be used to grow the Validator's holdings, cover their costs, and incentivize their performance.
Research & Development: This Treasury is dedicated to funding research and development initiatives. It could be used to fund the development of new platform features, support other projects that enhance the functionality & utility of the Maven Finance ecosystem, finance studies into new technology that will benefit the platform.
Investment Fund: This Treasury will be used to make strategic investments that promote the growth and stability of Maven Finance's On-Chain investment portfolio. This might include investing in promising projects or assets that could generate returns or provide other benefits for the Maven Finance community.
MVN Buyback for Oracles and Farms: This Treasury may be used to buy back MVN tokens in the market. The bought-back tokens could either be burned or be redistributed to oracles and farms within the ecosystem, as rewards for their contributions or to incentivize continued user participation.
General Treasury: The General Treasury will be used to cover a range of costs or financial needs that don't fall under the other specific Treasuries. This might include operational expenses, contingency funds, or other miscellaneous costs.
In the event of a successful emergency governance and break glass event, all Treasury contracts will be paused and main entry points, including transfers, will be temporarily locked.
This precautionary measure safeguards the funds in the Treasuries and mitigates any potential exploits through the Treasury contract.
